Snowy Day Fun!

Snowy fun from 3 snows ago on February 12! Snow was coming down, hard and school was cancelled at 11:30! Ryan picked the kiddos up while I laid their snow gear out ready for them to dawn as soon as they hit the front door. We were going to leave for snow skiing vacation in a week so it was perfect to test out!
I knew Britton was plotting something...
Brandon opted for building Mount Everest
a snow angel by my angel
Blaine just loved to eat (clean) snow
Berkley wanted to help Brandon

ski helmets and all. It was a fun day with hot chocolate and snow ice cream, my first attempt!

Thankful Thursday

This week has been a crazy one, with my husband out of town, again, things always pile up. Britton, our pre-k'er has been on a field trip 3 of the past 4 mornings, add a Boy Scout meeting Monday night, gymnastics Tuesday, a doctor appointment Wednesday and you have an exhausted mama and (I think) children. The boys are riding the bus home. I agreed after they wore me down, which didn't take much and we are going to have just a relaxing night. As much as one can have with 4 crazy kids! Anyway, with dad gone I've had some sad kiddos on my hands at times, like naptime and bedtime especially. The kids Skyped Monday night after he left Sunday morning but last night was the next time they were able to see his face.
To say they were anxious would be an understatement. I am so stinkin' thankful for technology. Seriously. It made them so happy which in turn made bedtime so much easier!
He'll be home late Friday to join Brandon on a weekend campout then back for a couple of hours Saturday to take our princess to a daddy/daughter dance, which she is over-the-moon excited for. There's been serious break-dancing happening this week in prep!

I am also so thankful for friends. A dear friend kept the littles for me while I took our oldest to the doctor yesterday and when I went to pick them up she had made supper, including us! I couldn't have been more thankful. The adult convo was honestly just what I needed to finish the week.

Tuesday Tidbit

Our family ski trip is fast approaching and sister insists she will ski with her "boys." (boys=bros)
The kids all have their ski gear and while the boys' is all gray, black and blue, Sister's is bright and colorful and oh so girly! perfect for her.

Blaine's 100th day of school was last Wednesday. He told me that we had to make a shirt and, bless his little heart, he wasn't blessed with a crafty mama. Thanks for Pinterest for the idea, 100 100-smiley-faces dawned a tee. He was happy so that's all that mattered.

In the Fall, Brandon auditioned for an honor choir that would perform in February with other schools in Oklahoma. Circle the state with Song was a day long festival. Our school kids left in a bus at 7:30 Saturday morning, arrived at their destination at 8:30 and rehearsed their hearts out for their concert at 3 in the afternoon. Those poor kids looked exhausted.

a hard day calls for a Dairy Queen blizzard
Ryan and I couldn't be prouder of Brandon for his dedication. He decided to audition and they had practice every Thursday and he didn't miss one and didn't complain about it at all.

Britton went to a good buddy's bowling party and in the favor bag was a pair of Harpo Marx glasses. Fun was had with them.

Britton is playing soccer this Spring! To be honest, his motivation for playing is to receive a medal because only Spring soccer players get the medal. He was pretty bummed in the Fall.
with a soccer signup comes an ice cream celebration

Gracelyn missed church Sunday because she was still lethargic after battling the flu last week. I teach the pre-k'ers and her Sunday School teacher came over and asked where she was. After I told her she went back and, with the help of the sweet kids, brought back a card for me to give G.
her face says it all.
His painting that he's so proud of. This week at school is all about pets. Monday they visited the pet shop and Wednesday they are taking a trip to the vet. In class they were asked to paint a picture of a pet.
Britton painted a robot with a pet snake.
