Ryan and I began going to a new Sunday School class recently. The class itself isn't new but it's new to us. We stopped going to Sunday School back in the Fall when we were no longer comfortable in the class we were attending. I, as a stay at home mom of 4, desperately yearn for and cherish adult convo. Ryan doesn't really get it, but he hears it from me all.the.time. I look forward to a weekly evening chat with a good friend, Sundays and Wednesdays at church to mingle and chat with people and Mondays and Thursdays at CDO because I get to work with a dear friend Sarah while we take care of sweet babies. I got a little side-tracked with all of that but my point is I am really liking the new class. Every time we go I am left thinking all week about what we discussed. It really sticks with me, which is great. I am just loving it.
Well this past Sunday our teacher posed a question to the class asking "what is your passion?" That question hit me like a ton of bricks. really. It stopped me dead in my tracks. I immediately starting racking my brain for answers to the question and my first thought was "my kids." obviously. But what about ME. Being a little selfish for a second, what is my passion? Ryan spoke up and said camping. shocker. I knew he was going to say that. He could camp every day and be perfectly content.
Now I, of course, do not regret my children but I made a decision last night to rekindle a couple of my passions before my every waking minute was consumed with kids. I used to be a HUGE reader. It's been since we had 3 kiddos that I have picked up a book and even then reading was very seldom. I don't have time to read a book a week but I think a book a month is a good goal to start out with. This goal includes reading my Bible as well. I have a women's devotional that I plan to start. My other huge passion was running. I love to run, it just releases so much pent up stress and tension and I love it. I hope to get back to that soon, at least a couple of times a week. I have a couple of others but I think I will start with those and see!

I love to read too! If you need any books to borrow, Mom & I have a few. I'm so happy you are enjoying your Sunday School class!
