A fun-filled Saturday!

Saturday was fun but very busy. I told Ryan later in the day that it was the busiest day we've had since having 4 kids. Friday night was the cub scout campout at the Omniplex. This year since Brandon is a webelo, he was able to earn some achievements. He took an engineering class and had a blast.
The other kiddos and I stayed the night with Mimi and Pappy. They are so so great to us and the kids just love going there. Mimi made a delicious breakfast casserole Saturday morning to start off the day. It was a hit and Blaine had 3 servings, which is huge for that little guy. After breakfast we loaded up and were off to the zoo!!

We hadn't been since August and Gracelyn hadn't really enjoyed herself then. Saturday was a completely different story. The girl had a blast. She didn't even fall asleep in the stroller and we were there from 10 til a little after 3.

She loved the giraffes and the elephants and was fascinated with anything that was moving, like the black bears playing and the sea lions swimming.

The boys were "in a cage" as Britton told me, as we were visiting the grand opening of the zoo-zeum.

The one memorable event from the zoo that I didn't get a picture of was Britton mooning many many passersby as he was relieving himself. Oh the joys of boys.

We left the zoo and headed to Kohls for me to run in and make some exchanges so the kids could nap a little in the car, before the rest of our day/evening. After supper in Yukon at Alfredos ("Mexican" as Blaine calls it) we headed back west to change clothes for the rodeo!
This is the only picture I got to prove that we went to a rodeo. The wind was blowing so hard that dirt was embedded on our faces and in our ears, eyes, everywhere. We stayed for all of the events, mostly because our favorites are the last two, barrel racing and bull riding. We all had a blast and Blaine kept asking when he could ride a horse.
It was a great day just the 6 of us. Everyone had smiles on their faces for much of the day!

I cannot believe how grown up Brandon is looking. Why do they have to keep getting older?

The zoo is a great idea. We need to visit ours soon before it gets way too hot.
