Brandon was a top reader this year in 1st grade!!!! He was also the first to reach each goal that began with propping his feet on the principal's desk after reading 100 (which he did within one month of school starting!) and then lunch with her after reading 250, and finally achieving the goal of 450 books (by December!) in order to throw a pie in her face!! By now he is well past 600 and we couldn't be more proud of him! He LOVES to read and at last check he was reading at a sixth grade level, including comprehension!
Yesterday was THE day to finally throw the pie in Mrs. Pankratz's face!! The assembly was at 1 in the afternoon and that's right in the middle of naptime for Blaine and Britton so Ryan went to cheer him on and take pictures! One of the mothers commented to Ryan that it looked like Brandon was really enjoying himself! I think he was! He had asked me (as well as his teacher and the principal) in December as soon as he read 450 if he reached 900, if he could throw TWO pies. The answer was no.

Brandon's last day of school is Tuesday and the first graders are going to the park for a picnic and games. I signed up to help host Brandon's class and will have pictures to share! Brandon is ready for summer and most of all baseball!!
