Friday 5

Vacation Bible School wrapped up today. VBS week is so fun but also so exhausting. I planned on taking the kids to the new splashpad in town today but we were all completely wiped out. Since I don't really have 10 updates, here are 5.

1. A great time was had by most this week, not my sweet B2 but overall it was a fantastic week. Britton LOVED his class and even played with a couple of kids (huge accomplishment.) He bragged daily that he didn't cry about going to VBS (he cries about going to SS on Sundays.) Gracelyn thoroughly enjoyed her class. How could she not with her good friend Taryn and sweet Ms. Sarah in there? Brandon missed Monday and Wednesday due to golf lessons but had a great time as well. Blaine begged to go to his dad's office by the end of the week because of the strict nature of his class.
B3 did lots of crafts. Here he is sporting binoculars, a snazzy hat, a backpack he colored (green, of course) and a necklace of subway tokens (the theme was NYC, Big Apple Adventure.) He called them gold doubloons from Jake and the Neverland Pirates.
Gracelyn as the Statue of Liberty.
Britton showing off his glasses he made today (wearing them on his hat like his daddy does) Gracelyn was so done with pics.
Oh and I taught the 4-5 year olds, the Pre-K'ers. I was told by one mom today that her little boy told her that he loved me. And I enjoyed a (friendly) rivalry with one boy who is a Yankees fan. Sweet conversations with the girls and boys really warmed my heart. They were sweet kiddos.

2. I saw my hematologist Tuesday and the results from my scope were great as well as the blood work he did regarding bone marrow diseases and cancer! The downside is that we are back to square 1 about why my hemoglobin is low (dropped back to 9) and my white cell count is hanging in at 2. He did an iron deficiency make-up and called today to say that I am not iron deficient so he is scheduling a bone marrow biopsy.

3. Rebecca Manney is taking pics of the kids this coming week and they will be decked out in Red Sox gear. I cannot wait, she always does such a great job!

4, I'm in full party planning mode for Blaine's 5th birthday, a Jake and the Neverland Pirates party. It's a new show on Disney, unfortunately so new that nothing is out for it yet. It's difficult finding pirate items for 4-5 year olds without skull and crossbones on it. The party favors are done and cupcakes ordered!

5. I have a good friend from high school that told me today that she has been diagnosed with syringomyelia, a cyst on her spinal cord after experiencing numbness in her neck to her right shoulder. It is not usually operable and it is pretty rare, 8 in 100,000. Basically it can enlarge over time and destroy the spinal cord from the inside out resulting in total disability. If you would, please say a prayer for healing from God for her. Thank you.
