Tuesday 10

I have so much to blog; mainly Last Blast 2012 and Brandon's triathlon! Here are other tidbits in our crazy life.

1. Less than an hour before departing for our Last Blast a week ago Sunday, I was turning the shower off for the boys when the knob broke and the hot water wouldn't shut off. Yes, I'm talking 30 minutes prior, Ryan was loading the car with all the luggage, so he had to just turn the water off and we hit the road. We knew coming home we'd have a huge project but it didn't stop our fun.
thanks to great friends for help over the weekend
2. Brandon participated in a kids triathlon this past Saturday (that deserves a separate post of its own) and had a blast! This was a pic right before we ran one night the week before.

3. In prep for his big morning, my mom made pancake muffins. I told her about them after I made them for my family a couple of weeks ago. They are super easy and delicious. Mix up your pancake batter, add sausage, pour in muffin tin, sprinkle sausage on the top of each cup and bake for 13mnutes at 350. My kids loved them.

4. Brandon's escape from his sibs and the hectic of our life...
a boy and his nook
5. The joy of boys...
They placed a plastic, disgusting spider in my Sperrys. I lost all sense of composure when I saw it. I screamed, grabbed another shoe and began beating my Sperry. It wasn't until I somehow heard the boys laughing hysterically while laying on the floor that I realized the insect was a fake and I had been had.

6. Speaking of Sperrys :) Gracelyn enjoyed the Annual tax-free weekend this past weekend. We went shopping and, as usual, she ended up with shoes.
7. Tonight was Pre-K family night! Britton got to meet his teacher, see his classroom and meet some of his classmates. I cannot believe he is going to be going to school. He told me that he would like it because "Mrs. Hunt has red tractors." Also, he has several friends in his class, both from Sunday School and Children's Day Out! I have high hopes but I'm also super nervous that he is going to have a meltdown next Friday. He is quite the mama's boy.
super excited!

until we got in. I think he was a bit overwhelmed.
He knows his teacher because Blaine had her last year and she would talk to Britton when she brought Blaine to the car. She greeted him tonight and asked if she could give him a hug, he said no, she asked if she could tickle him, he said no, she asked how about a high 5, he said sure. She said she loved his seriousness. I am anxious to see how his personality develops over the school year.

8. I took Blaine to get his eyes checked. I thought it best to be good to go before school started. His astigmatism in his left eye is corrected but his right eye still doesn't look too good. We did get a new pair of glasses, ones that can bend a bit more. :) and they are a blueish gray, which Blaine really likes!

9. Gracelyn is totally loving the gymnastics portion of the Olympics.
a perfect score!
She will actually start gymnastics in the Fall!

10. Have a blessed week!

I bet Britton is in Casidee's class! My cousin/babysitter's daughter is in Mrs. Hunt's morning pre-k class. Do you know the Parkhursts? My aunt and uncle live just down the street from you. Their daughter-in-law, Andrea, is babysitting Evan and her daughter is starting pre-k this year.

Yay for a busy week! I've been waiting for pics of your Last Blast. I can't believe it's school time.... I want summer to last a bit longer. And, way to go Brandon on his triathalon!

I am lovin' everyone of these, but I have to say, seeing the boy and his nook just warms my heart. Younger readers are so precious!

My Gracie did the same thing when we watched the gymnastics. Hope the first day goes well for everyone.

Oh that stinks about the bathroom fiasco right before you left for your trip. I hope you've got it fixed by now!
