Unfortunately Brandon didn't win any of his heats. He was a super sport about it even though you could (understandably) tell it was very difficult, especially when his BFF finished first for the Bears. I was so proud of him but my heart broke for him too.
he's up!
I didn't get a good pic of his car,
the top is red and the underneath is blue.

lining his car up perfectly
The night before the race Brandon went with Ryan to set up the track and in the car Brandon informed his dad of his plan, to ask his little bro Blaine if he wanted to use one of Brandon's old cars from the previous 2 years to race in the "Open Class." Each group of the Cub Scouts race but then there is an "Open Class" where parents and siblings can participate in the fun.
When they got home Ryan took me aside and told me Brandon's idea. We were shocked but so incredibly proud of Brandon and his thoughtfulness toward his little (sometime annoying to him) brother. It was awesome because when Ryan told Brandon to tell me what he was going to do, Brandon told me as if it was no big deal. However Blaine thought it was an enormous deal. He was over-the-moon elated. and if Brandon already wasn't up pretty high on Blaine's amazing people list, he certainly is now!
