I know "it's just hair" and "it'll grow back" blah, blah, blah, but I am having trouble with it.seriously. B2 asked for a mohawk but Ryan (surprisingly) restrained himself. He said he knew better. The only rule I have, since obviously I have been outvoted, is that the mohawk be gone by enrollment day for 4th grade.
2.It rained last night!! What a praise to finally have moisture on our very, very dry land. For his birthday, Blaine received an umbrella that came with his Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs movie. The story involves food falling from the sky so when the umbrella gets wet, food appears on it. When B2 received it last week but, with the drought we're in, I honestly wasn't sure when Blaine would ever get to see the food. Last night he got to though and the two boys thought it was awesome. for a few minutes.
Gracelyn loved the rain. I was trying to think about how few times she's actually seen the rain in her short little life and how little we've received since. She was quite fascinated with it, running out in it and did not want to go back inside.

| as soon as I snapped the picture she was gone and I took off chasing her since it was still lightening. |
3. With the above-mentioned rain came storms so we also lost power. It happened right before supper and the word going around was to not expect power back on til around 8. There were still homes this late afternoon without power. So when Ryan got home we went in search of food. A lot of damage was done in town so the only option was Braums and Quiznos and pretty much the whole town was split between the 2.
So we headed to Ryan's parents because his aunt and cousin are here from Duncan and we love them dearly. Ryan's cousin, Kasey, just graduated from high school and Ryan's aunt Paula is hilarious, she and I laugh and laugh and laugh. We love them and they love on the kids so much. After Kasey and the boys shot each other with the toy guns for about an hour they moved outside to play tag.
4. I set clothes out for Blaine each day... but he opts for this...
5. My annual "Last Blast" is quickly approaching with the start of school just around the corner, for TWO of my kids this year (tear :( ), so I'm wracking my brain with input from Brandon about what we will do for a few days in the city to celebrate the end of summer.
6. Gracelyn is weaned from her pacifier except for naptime and bedtime! YAY! I'm very proud of her because she loves her "pa" very much.

| this is an "I didn't get my way so I want my paci." We have lots of drama and attitude in our house. |
8. With Blaine's birthday over, Britton is all about his next birthday, in November. He wants the same party as last year, a tractor themed party at the Maze. I hope we can name something else that interests him as it gets a tad closer because as of now he is set on a repeat.
9. The kids all have caught the book bug and if Ryan and I are busy then they can always rope Brandon into being the reader.
10. Blaine got his Pre-K letter today telling us who is teacher is and the peace in which I prayed for in making the decision to send B2 to public school was answered. The teacher he got is one of my most favorite people. She is a mom of 3 boys and will know just how to work with his energy and love him dearly. If he wasn't ready before, he is so ready now!

Ah, the umbrella! How fun that Blaine got to use it the week after his birthday! Way to go, G, on ditching the paci! I know it's not easy at all.
What a cool umbrella! And I'm glad you guys got rain...we still need it down in this area. I'm so proud of you for running! As a mom of 4, I bet it is some good, quality ME time!
I am with you on the mohawk. I can't stand them. I used to babysit this kid that was 2 and his parents cut his hair and spiked it up into a mohawk ever since he had enough hair to do it and that's how they always kept it. I always thought it looked ridiculous, a cute little toddler walking around with a paci and a mohawk. The whole time I kept him I would never go anywhere with him out in public with that hair of his. I didn't want people to think he was mine, and that I would fix his hair like that. LOL!
How did you wean her from the paci? Mine still has it anytime she wants it.
