whirlwind

that would perfectly describe our weekend.

Saturday morning Ryan and Brandon woke up and had some Cub Scout business to take care of. First they had to go “scouting for food,” meaning drive around and pick up canned food off people’s front porches. Ryan borrowed his dad’s pickup so the boys had a blast jumping out and racing up to get the food. Then after they finished they headed back to the scout hut to distribute popcorn. The Tiger cubs sold more than the other dens by leaps and bounds! Way to go Tigers! While they were doing that I was home getting myself and the two younger boys ready for the day and the trip to the city. They weren’t quite as cooperative as a few days before when we went to Brandon’s school though. Anyway, Ryan and Brandon got home around noon and we headed to the city because I had LOTS to do. We stopped at Hobby Lobby on our way in!!! That is always a treat for me! I had to get not only scrapbook supplies but also stuff for Britton’s first birthday celebration! After, we stopped at Sam’s for diapers and then it was finally on to Mimi and Pappy’s house!! The boys were excited but I was a little nervous seeing as they didn’t sleep on the way to the city as I had planned…We got there about 2 and had a great time visiting and playing. Blaine loves the dress up costumes there and they are still too big but he wears them proudly anyway. Brandon has a great time exploring outside and climbing trees and Britton just sort of hangs out.

Britton had to stay inside because his outfit had to be washed so we brought this in and he had a BLAST!

Mimi and Britton (he was soooooooo sleepy)

We ate dinner and then it was on to Papa and Grantee's house! The boys dragged the toys out and had a blast. Papa and Grantee were nice and let Ryan and I run to Kohl's to do some shopping for Britton! That short trip there was fun, any time that Ryan and I have with no kids is precious! The boys (the two older ones) were treated with some ice cream and of course enjoyed that! We wished we could have stayed longer but with the cranky moods displayed by Blaine and Britton, it was time to hit the road.
Britton and Grantee. He missed out on ice cream but I don't think he cares!

We stopped at Target in Yukon!!! (which I am THRILLED about!) I have only been to the city twice since it opened and I have been there both times! I needed to get Britton's gift and also the ingredients for tortilla rolls for a baby shower today. We got home late and I stayed up making the food for the shower.
This morning we went to church, then to lunch with friends from Sunday School and then I had to get home to lay Blaine and Britton down for naps and start on banana bread for the baby shower while Ryan and Brandon went to distribute the rest of the popcorn. They got home and I had to leave. The shower was for a friend from Sunday School, Julie. She and her husband Dave have a daughter Andrea who will be 4 on Christmas Eve and they are having a boy!! I am so excited for them! I helped to host the shower and I think it went great! Julie got some cute clothes and a really cute wall hanging with the baby Peydon's first initial on it that my crafty friend Sarah made! She is so creative! The shower was so great and to be able to have girl talk was something that is foreign to me! Living in a house full of boys I never get that so to have a couple of hours of that was soooooo nice! Ryan had to call me to tell me to come home because we were going to Clinton to his parents for dinner and I still had to run by Walgreens on my way home for more pictures. We got home from Clinton and the two younger boys went to bed and Brandon and I filled out his "Champ of the Week" questionnaire. He was selected as the champ this week and I had to pick out pictures of him with his family and doing the things he loves best! He went to bed and I then had to make Britton's birthday invitations! I need to mail them tomorrow. So I am just now sitting down for what seems like the first time this weekend. It was a great weekend and we were able to see everyone but I think we are all worn out!
I wish everyone a very blessed week!
